The Fall Guy set to dazzle UK cinemas with star-studded cast and high-octane action in May 2024

The eagerly awaited action thriller, The Fall Guy, is set to make its grand entrance in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from 2nd May 2024. This film, directed by the renowned David Leitch and featuring a star-studded cast including Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham and Stephanie Hsu, promises to blend humour with high-octane action in a narrative that pays homage to the unsung heroes of the action movie genre – the stunt community.

The Fall Guy follows the story of Colt Seavers, portrayed by Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling, a stuntman who returns to the fray after an almost career-ending accident. Seavers is on a mission not just to perform death-defying stunts but also to unravel a conspiracy, track down a missing movie star and rekindle an old flame, all the while navigating the perilous waters of the movie industry. The narrative is enriched by the character of Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt, who is Seavers’s ex and the director of the movie within the movie, adding layers of personal conflict and intrigue.

Leitch, known for his work on Bullet TrainDeadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde, brings his personal experience as a former stuntman to the director’s chair, making The Fall Guy his most personal project to date. The film is not just an action-packed thriller but also a love letter to the action movie industry and the hardworking individuals behind the scenes who bring these films to life.

The screenplay, penned by Hobbs & Shaw writer Drew Pearce, is brought to life by a production team that includes Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Ryan Gosling and Guymon Casady, ensuring that the film’s action sequences are as authentic as they are breathtaking.

In addition to its thrilling plot and stellar cast, The Fall Guy boasts a rich legacy, drawing inspiration from the hit 1980s TV series of the same name. The film also showcases the talents of Winston Duke and Academy Award nominee Stephanie Hsu, adding further depth to an already compelling ensemble.

With its mix of humour, action and heart, The Fall Guy is poised to be a cinematic experience that celebrates the unsung heroes of the film industry while providing audiences with an unforgettable thrill ride. Check out the new trailer below.
