Royal Blood, the dynamic rock duo composed of lifelong friends Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, is set to mark the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a special edition release on 16th August 2024. This landmark album, which catapulted them to remarkable success upon its release in 2014, will be celebrated with a series of special live shows, including two performances at London’s iconic O2 Academy Brixton.

Since its debut, Royal Blood’s album has not only achieved a double platinum certification but also earned them the prestigious BRIT Award for Best British Group, among other accolades from NME and Kerrang!. The release of Royal Blood – 10th Anniversary Edition is a nod to the profound impact the album has had, not just on Kerr and Thatcher’s careers but also on the UK rock scene, with all four of their studio albums debuting at number one in the UK.

Reflecting on the journey since the album’s release, Kerr and Thatcher shared, “We can’t quite comprehend the fact that a decade has passed since the release of our debut album! The world, minds and bodies we inhabit now feel somewhat unrecognisable to where it all began, yet the music on that record has remained a constant. It really did change our lives and we owe it everything.”

The anniversary edition is not just a reissue but an expanded package that includes live versions, B-sides, and previously unheard material, promising a fresh experience even for the most dedicated fans. The decision to perform live shows dedicated to the album’s anniversary was described by the duo as “the ultimate victory lap”, an opportunity to celebrate this significant milestone with their fans.

The anticipation for these anniversary shows is high, with the band also revealing a busy touring schedule for 2024 that spans Europe, North America and South America. These performances will not only serve as a celebration of their debut album’s enduring legacy but also as a testament to Royal Blood’s significant role in shaping the modern rock landscape.

Fans eager to relive the raw, electrifying energy of Royal Blood’s early days can look forward to experiencing tracks like Figure It Out, Come on Over and Out of the Black in a live setting, songs that have remained staples of the band’s performances over the years. The Royal Blood – 10th Anniversary Edition promises to be a fitting tribute to an album that has, as Kerr and Thatcher put it, “changed our lives” and left an indelible mark on the rock genre.
