The Coravin World Wine Tour launches in collaboration with UK restaurants

Global leader in wine preservation, Coravin is teaming up with high-end restaurants to offer a unique experience: the Coravin World Wine Tour, launching this May, introducing wine aficionados to a selection of exceptionally rare fine wines, available by the glass at a fraction of their usual price. Participating venues include establishments such as City Social in London, Medlar Restaurant, Moor Hall in West Lancashire, and Chewton Glen in Hampshire.

The initiative takes advantage of Coravin’s pioneering technology, which allows wine to be extracted from a bottle without removing the cork, replacing the oxygen with argon gas to prevent oxidation and keep the wine fresh for months or even years. This means that wines, which are typically only sold by the bottle due to their high value and limited availability, can now be enjoyed by the glass without compromising their quality.

The month-long menu, available throughout May and open to guests booking tables at any of the participating restaurants, features a curated selection of wines that are rarely seen outside of private collections. Highlights include an ex-chateau release of Chateau Palmer 2013, known for its exquisite quality from the Margaux appellation, and Champagne Andre Jacquart Le Mesnil Grand Cru 2013, a premium Blanc de Blancs. Additionally, wine enthusiasts can look forward to trying Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett 2020, Boroli Barolo Brunella 2015, and Szepsy Szamorodni 2016, amongst others. With prices starting under £20 for a 50ml taster, the initiative offers an accessible way for a broader audience to experience wines that would typically cost significantly more.

Greg Lambrecht, the inventor and founder of Coravin, expressed his excitement about the World Wine Tour “We are very proud to be launching this programme in venues all over the world in May, facilitating rare and memorable experiences for wine lovers.” The initiative not only showcases Coravin’s commitment to innovation in wine preservation but also highlights the participating restaurants’ dedication to offering extraordinary culinary experiences.

The Coravin World Wine Tour is set to become a bi-annual event, with a second series planned for September.
