Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea debuts a new Indian railway-inspired dining journey

Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea introduces a new dining concept, Rakesh Nair’s Railway Journey Feast, promising a culinary journey across India. The experience is inspired by the scenic route of the Himsagar Express, covering 12 of India’s most famous states over a 2355-mile trip from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Priced at £45 per person, this special sharing menu is designed to offer a taste of first-class travel at economy pricing.

The meal is set beneath an original Victorian railway arch on the restaurant’s floating mezzanine, designed to replicate the ambiance of a First-Class railway carriage. It can accommodate up to 20 guests, making it an ideal choice for family gatherings and special celebrations. Available every day from 5pm, the menu is a vibrant exploration of India’s diverse culinary landscape, divided by the railway zones traversed by the Himsagar Express.

Chef Rakesh Nair has curated a selection of dishes that highlight the rich and subtly spiced flavours of different regions. From the South, diners can enjoy Kovai Shrimp Pepper Fry, moving through to central Indian delicacies like Agra Style Lamb Seek Kebab, and culminating in northern specialties such as Old Delhi Style Butter Chicken Curry. The journey ends with a dessert trio from Kashmir, featuring malai kulfi, mango sorbet, and thandai ice cream covered with spiced meringue.

Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea is part of The Cinnamon Collection, a group of six modern Indian dining venues led by Executive Chef and CEO Vivek Singh. The Collection is renowned for its commitment to sustainability, having been awarded the highest three-star rating in the Food Made Good Standard by The Sustainable Restaurant Association. This accolade underscores the group’s dedication to ethical sourcing, societal contribution, and environmental responsibility.

In addition to the dining experience, The Cinnamon Collection has also launched a mobile app, offering easy access to menus, exclusive offers, and a loyalty program. New users are welcomed with a £25 gift towards their next visit to any Cinnamon Collection restaurant.
