PJ Harvey curates major London concert at Gunnersbury Park featuring Big Thief, Tirzah and Shida Shahabi

PJ Harvey will perform her largest live show yet at Gunnersbury Park, London, on Sunday 18th August 2024. The acclaimed artist will be joined by American folk-rock band Big Thief, British musician Tirzah and Swedish-Iranian composer Shida Shahabi. This diverse lineup is part of a unique event personally curated by Harvey, following her recent album release, I Inside the Old Year Dying

Harvey expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming show, stating, “I’m grateful to Gunnersbury Park for inviting me to curate this event. I have chosen what I feel to be some of the most exciting artists working today. With them, I hope to be able to give the audience an emotional, heartening and uplifting experience.”

The event marks a significant return for Harvey to London’s live music scene, where she aims to deliver a compelling performance alongside carefully selected fellow artists. Known for her powerful and evocative music, Harvey has consistently garnered critical acclaim, not least as the only artist to have won the prestigious Mercury Music Prize twice.

Joining Harvey is Big Thief, known for their album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You. Also on the lineup is Tirzah, recognised for her innovative musical style that blends rhythmic patterns with sensitive melodies, and Shida Shahabi, whose latest album Living Circle offers immersive soundscapes.

Shahabi shared her excitement about the event, saying, “I am really excited to be supporting the inspiring and brilliant PJ Harvey, along with other really nice acts, at Gunnersbury Park in London [in] August, where we will be performing music from my recent album Living Circle.”

Gunnersbury Park has established itself as a premier location for outdoor concerts in London. With a history of hosting varied music genres and high-profile artists, the park promises a rich cultural experience for attendees in August 2024.
