The Dilly reimagines its London-themed afternoon tea with iconic landmark desserts and a bus-shaped stand

The Dilly, the historic hotel located in the heart of Piccadilly, has reintroduced its London-themed afternoon tea with an innovative presentation. The newly revamped menu, now served on a distinctive London bus-shaped stand, was originally launched at the hotel’s Terrace venue. It features a selection of British classics and desserts designed to mimic famous London landmarks.

Patrons of The Dilly can expect to start their afternoon tea experience with a variety of homemade savoury sandwiches, including options such as Coronation Chicken and Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese. The highlight of the tea, however, is the array of cakes and sweets crafted in the forms of notable structures like Tower Bridge – a pear frangipane with vanilla cremeux and pear and rosemary chutney – next to St Paul’s Cathedral – a delicacy made from spiced plum, ginger sable and candy walnutsadding a creative twist to the experience. There will be also a Big Ben prepared with caramel chocolate ganache, sea salt and a dark chocolate sable, and a classic double-decker bus in the form of a mango and passionfruit cheesecake.

In addition to the food, guests can enhance their afternoon with a selection of champagnes – including Pommery Louis English Sparkling and Pommery Brut Royal NV – or choose from an extensive range of teas provided by The Tea Makers of London, which includes traditional blends and herbal options.

The revamped afternoon tea is available daily from 12:30 pm to 4 pm, priced at £49 per person. A children’s menu is also available at the price of £39.

The Dilly, which first opened its doors in 1908, is renowned for its prestigious location and extensive facilities, entailing a range of luxury accommodations and leisure amenities. At the end of 2022, the hotel was acquired by Fattal Hotels, a group known for its expansive portfolio of over 200 hotels worldwide.
