The Koko Foundation will host a special edition of Letters Live, A Night in the Theatre, featuring a star-studded lineup including Cate Blanchett, Ghetts, Wyclef Jean and FKA Twigs, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, who was recently appointed as the Foundation’s global ambassador focusing on environmental advocacy.

The event, taking place at Koko on 7th November, aims to raise funds for the Foundation’s initiatives, which support disadvantaged youths and environmental projects in the Camden area. The foundation has been instrumental in fostering opportunities for young people through music and arts while contributing to creating a greener environment. Their efforts have significantly impacted the local community, with initiatives such as the planting of trees across various estates and schools in Camden. According to the Foundation, these projects have added an estimated 40% of newly planted trees in the area.

Benedict Cumberbatch expressed his enthusiasm about his role stating: “I am honoured to be a Koko Foundation ambassador with a special focus on the environment. It’s been so inspiring to witness first-hand, the amazing impact that the foundation has quietly had over the past few years, making real and lasting change in Camden. I’m excited, inspired and committed to help bring awareness to the special work being done and continue to help improve the local area and scale the foundations work around the country, and the world.”

The CEO of the Koko Foundation, Sophia Pasetti, also shared her thoughts: “The foundation was born out of a desire to create something really special, to contribute to the community that Koko is a part of; its environment, young people, and the next generation of essential artists. I have been deeply moved by the impact our initiatives are already making, and it is a privilege to lead our foundation on this exciting journey. I am beyond grateful for Benedict’s integrity and authenticity, he is incredibly inspiring and having him on board to help amplify our work is a true honour“

In addition to the environmental efforts, the foundation has developed a sustainable funding and employment model through the Koko Foresters programme. This initiative trains and employs local youths to maintain the green projects throughout the year, providing both job opportunities and environmental benefits.

Tickets for A Night In The Theatre are still available, with some being allocated to local residents who have directly benefited from the Foundation’s work. This event not only promises an evening of engaging performances but also supports a worthy cause that impacts the local community significantly.
