Gloria Trattoria to host charity dinner for INTERSOS

On the 26th of November, Gloria Trattoria in Shoreditch, London, will host a charity dinner in collaboration with Italian chefs Francesco Martucci and Diego Vitagliano. The event, organized by Big Mamma Group, aims to raise funds for INTERSOS, an Italian humanitarian organization dedicated to aiding unaccompanied minors in war zones.

The evening will commence with antipasti and dolci prepared by Big Mamma’s Executive Chef, Filippo La Gattuta. As guest chefs for the night, Martucci and Vitagliano, coming from the two best Italian pizzerias for 2024, ranked by 50 Top Pizza, will serve seven specially crafted pizzas. Martucci will introduce guests to his new pizza dough, which incorporates a diverse blend of grains and seeds, topped with seven takes on the classics, including interpretations of onions, mayonnaise, fermented onion, and jam. Vitagliano will present a double crunch pizza featuring smoked provolone and smoked Angus beef, among other exquisite toppings.

Andrea de Michele, head pizza chef at Big Mamma Group, will introduce the guest chefs. The group has previously been acknowledged by 50 Top Pizza as one of the World’s Best Artisan Pizza Groups.

The menu for the evening includes three pizzas by Martucci, such as the Futuro di Marinara, with a cream of roasted tomato, caiazzane olives, anchovies, orsino garlic pesto, Salina capers, and oregano. Another option among the mus-try is Saturnia, including ingredients such as black garlic mousse and red tuna bottarga. From Vitagliano’s selection of three pizzas, the Abra-ciami stands out with its double crunch base, and delicious toppings like smoked provola, carpaccio of smoked angus, sweet paprika, fleur de sel and charred mayonnaise. The Colpo di testa option, instead, is finished with leaks in butter, fiordilatte mozzarella, cuvé pepper, coppa di testa (a cured meat), cream of papaccelle (Neapolitan bell pepper).

The event, priced at €101 per ticket, will showcase a special dinner with all proceeds going to INTERSOS. The charity’s projects are crucial in providing protection and assistance to vulnerable children separated from their families in conflict zones.
