Netflix unveils trailer for Harlan Coben’s new thriller series Missing You set to premiere in January 2025

Netflix has announced the release of the trailer for Missing You, a new thriller series by Harlan Coben, set to premiere globally on 1st January 2025. The series, featuring Rosalind Eleazar in the central role, marks another collaboration between Coben and Netflix, following the success of previous adaptations like Fool Me Once.

Missing You centres on Kat Donovan, portrayed by Eleazar, a detective specializing in Missing Persons cases. The narrative unfolds with Donovan discovering her long-lost fiancé, who disappeared 11 years earlier, on a dating app. This shocking revelation initiates a deep investigation tied to her father’s murder and secrets buried deep in her past.

The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage, Sir Lenny Henry, Steve Pemberton, Jessica Plummer, Mary Malone, Lisa Faulkner and James Nesbitt. It comprises five episodes, each lasting 60 minutes.

Produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios, Missing You was filmed in Manchester and the Northwest of England, adapting the original US setting of Coben’s story to the UK. Harlan Coben serves as an executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions.

Coben’s adaptations on Netflix have achieved incredible success, with his series Fool Me Once reaching over 108 million views, making it the most-viewed TV show on the platform for the first half of 2024. Coben’s writing continues to attract a global audience, with his novels published in 45 languages worldwide.

The series will explore themes of love, betrayal and the lengths one will go to uncover the truth, aiming to be a gripping addition to Netflix’s thriller genre offerings.
