Women in Film and Television Awards 2024: On the red carpet with the winners and attendees

Women in Film and Television Awards 2024: On the red carpet with the winners and attendees

The prestigious 33rd ceremony of the Women in Film and Television Awards took place Friday 6th December in London. Just like last year, the event was hosted by the witty Katherine Ryan. We learned that Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning was awarded the Argonon Best Performance Award, while Ambika Mod received the Netflix New Talent Award for One Day. Other recipients include Andrea Oliver, Norma Percy and Daisy Allsop.

This year, hosts focused on giving a platform for newcomers in this industry, while also acknowledging how crucial it is for women to support each other internally in showbusiness. The Upcoming attended the awards and spoke to the winners, attendees and presenters on the red carpet. They spoke to us about what the event means to them and the opportunities that allow women to rise within the industry.

Host Katherine Ryan spoke to us about the event, supporting women from the industry and hosting the ceremony once again.

One of the guests, actress Jessica Raine (currently known for her Amazon show The Devil’s Hour), stopped to chat to us about the importance of the entire awards.

Meanwhile, Andrea Oliver spoke to us about how important the Eikon Presenter Award was for her and why we should all watch the brand-new show Mr Loverman.
