DabbaDrop to launch Taste of Singapore menu with chef Shu Han Lee

DabbaDrop, the London-based food delivery service committed to sustainability and zero waste, is planning the lauch of a new menu in collaboration with Singaporean chef Shu Han Lee.

Driven by a shared passion for cooking and environmental stewardship, Anshu Ahuja and Renée Williams founded DabbaDrop in 2018. The duo has been delivering nutritious, homemade South Asian cuisine through a unique model that uses pushbikes and reusable tin dabbas to minimize environmental impact. Their service not only offers a diverse culinary experience across South Asia but also aligns with the growing consumer interest in sustainable dining options. Dabba is a Hindi word for box, actually a stainless steel, tiered container sometimes called a tiffin tin, that is used all over India to carry home-cooked meals.

Shu Han Lee, who moved from Singapore to London in 2019, is not only a chef but also a celebrated author and the founder of Rempapa Spice Co., known for its Southeast Asian curry and chilli pastes. Her culinary expertise has been acknowledged through her work with prominent figures and brands in the food industry, including Jamie Oliver and Kikkoman. Lee’s first cookbook, Chicken and Rice, was published in 2016 and received critical acclaim. Her latest work, Agak Agak, features a collection of recipes that reflect a modern twist on traditional Singaporean cuisine.

The upcoming menu by DabbaDrop and Lee features a variety of dishes designed to showcase the vibrant and bold flavours of Singaporean cuisine. Among the highlights are Hispi Fry with Mushroom ‘Oyster’ Sauce, where charred cabbage pairs with a rich, umami-packed mushroom sauce; Roast Pumpkin Masak Lemak, a creamy coconut curry infused with turmeric and lemongrass; and Tofu with Salted Black Beans & Broccoli, prepared with tofu and tender broccoli in a savoury black bean sauce. Complementing these dishes, the menu also includes Pandan Steamed Rice, a light and aromatic rice infused with pandan, and Rempapa’s signature Red Hot Sambal Tumis.

The limited edition Taste of Singapore menu, inspired by Lee’s cookbook Agak Agak, will be available to order on the 23rd and 25 of April 2025
