Luxury gin Cygnet unveils exclusive Cygnet 77 at Harrods for Earth Day

Cygnet Gin, a Welsh luxury spirits brand, has launched its latest product, Cygnet 77, with an exclusive release at Harrods in London. The new gin was unveiled on 22nd April 2025, coinciding with World Earth Day, and will be available solely at the iconic department store for a four-week period. The launch event featured a discussion on sustainable luxury between Harrods managing director Michael Ward and Cygnet CEO and co-founder Andrew Levitas, underscoring the brand’s focus on environmental responsibility.

Founded in 2023 by classical singer Katherine Jenkins OBE and artist and filmmaker Andrew Levitas, Cygnet Gin has positioned itself as a high-end contender in the gin market. The company’s first product, Cygnet 22, is already distributed across luxury venues and retailers. The introduction of Cygnet 77 marks the brand’s continued efforts to challenge conventions within the gin category, according to the company.

Cygnet 77 is distilled and matured at the Copperworks Distillery in Wales. The production process involves ageing the gin for over 12 months in specially selected Welsh whisky casks, with Manuka honey as a key botanical. This method is intended to impart a distinctive character to the spirit, combining notes of juniper, chamomile and caramelised Manuka honey with the subtle influence of oak barrels.

According to the company, the gin is designed to be consumed neat over ice or as part of a martini. The brand describes the tasting experience as featuring “a soft, floral aroma that calls to mind blooming meadows and fresh spring blossom,” with a “full-bodied and silky-smooth” finish and “lingering sweetness of Manuka honey.”

In keeping with Cygnet’s emphasis on sustainability, Cygnet 77 is packaged in the Eirlys decanter, a hand-blown vessel designed to resemble a water droplet. The decanter, lighter than the industry average, is intended for reuse as a decanter, vase or candlestick holder. The brand states that this design reflects both the purity of Welsh water used in distillation and the company’s Welsh heritage.

The name Cygnet 77 is said by the brand to symbolise “a profound awakening, heightened intuition and a connection to inner wisdom,” with the number 77 representing transformation and enlightenment.
