Bread Ahead to give away 1,000 free doughnuts and launch new workshop for National Doughnut Week

London-based bakery Bread Ahead will distribute 1,000 free doughnuts at its Wembley location on Monday, 12th May, as part of National Doughnut Week, which runs from the 10th to the 18th of May. The giveaway, which begins at 8 am and continues until supplies run out, is limited to one doughnut per person and includes the bakery’s popular Crème Brûlée flavour as well as other varieties.

The event coincides with the unveiling of a new outdoor seating area equipped with heaters at Bread Ahead Wembley, expanding the site’s capacity by 150 seats.

Additionally, Bread Ahead’s flagship site at Borough Market is introducing a new Crème Brûlée Doughnut Making Experience, a one-hour workshop where participants can learn to make and fill four Crème Brûlée doughnuts. The sessions will be held five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday), with time slots available throughout the day, starting from Saturday, the 10th of May, in the bakery’s new Doughnut Studio. Spaces are limited to 10, at the price of £50 per person, and the experience includes a coffee and the opportunity to take home the doughnuts made during the session.

As an initiative for taking part in National Doughnut Week, 10% of all bookings for the Crème Brûlée workshop made during the week will be donated to The Children’s Trust, a UK charity supporting children with brain injury and neurodisability. National Doughnut Week, established in 1992, encourages bakeries and businesses to sell doughnuts to raise funds for the charity. Since its inception, the initiative has raised over £1.1 million for various causes, with £632,339 donated to The Children’s Trust.

Mike Thiedke, Chief Executive at The Children’s Trust, said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Bread Ahead during National Doughnut Week. Their support will help us continue providing vital rehabilitation services and care for children and families across the UK.”

Matthew Jones, founder of Bread Ahead, commented, “There’s something magical about the Crème Brûlée doughnut—our customers can’t get enough of it. Launching this experience during National Doughnut Week, and being able to give back while we do it, makes it even more meaningful.”
