1 Lombard Street debuts steak and unlimited frites Fridays for City diners

London’s 1 Lombard Street, dining venue in the heart of the City, has announced a new weekly offering for diners: a steak and unlimited frites menu available every Friday from 3pm. The initiative aims to provide a straightforward and classic dining experience for city workers and visitors looking to unwind at the end of the week.

The new menu centres on a butcher’s cut steak, made with beef sourced from Irish master butcher Peter Hannan. Each steak is served with a choice of Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce, accompanied by bottomless fries, all for £27. The fries are continually replenished, presented on silver platters. The concept is intended to offer just good beef and frites that don’t run out, with an emphasis on simplicity and quality.

Located at 1 Lombard Street, London EC3V 9AA, the restaurant is housed in a Grade II listed building, notable for its neo-classical architecture, stuccoed ceiling, and glass dome. The venue has long been recognised as a fixture of the City’s dining scene, and the new menu wants to reinforce its reputation as a destination for Friday evening meals that may extend into the night.

Alongside the steak and fries, 1 Lombard Street is offering a curated cocktail list designed to complement the meal and transition guests into the evening. Cocktails include the Americano (Campari, sweet vermouth, soda), Paloma (El Rayo Tequila, grapefruit soda, fresh lime), and Rum Punch (house rum blend, mixed fruit liqueur, lime, pineapple juice), each priced at £8. The Espresso Martini, made with 58&Co. Vodka, Tia Maria, fresh espresso, and vanilla syrup, is also available for £10.

There’s something about a Friday night in the City. The week loosens its grip, the room fills steadily, and dinner shifts from formality to the first act of the evening.

The steak and unlimited frites menu is available to all diners every Friday from 3pm onwards. Reservations are recommended due to anticipated demand. The restaurant hopes the new offering will appeal not only to regular City clientele but also to Londoners and visitors from further afield seeking a relaxed yet lively Friday night atmosphere.
