Oriole bar launches Spanish pintxos menu with summer cocktails in Covent Garden

Award-winning speakeasy bar, Oriole in Covent Garden has introduced a new menu dedicated to Spanish pintxos. The launch coincides with what is expected to be the hottest week of the year, offering visitors a selection of small Spanish bites alongside the bar’s signature cocktails. The new menu, curated by head chef Gustavo Giallonardo, is now available to guests both inside and on the outdoor terrace.
The pintxos selection features traditional snacks commonly found in the bars of northern Spain and served as small, flavorful accompaniments to drinks, such as Pan con Tomate , a Spanish Tortilla and Gildas. At Oriole, the pintxos will be served as complementary additions to the bar’s Sgroppini cocktails between 3pm and 6pm.
Variations of the classic Italian cocktail, Oriole’s sgroppini have been developed in partnership with London-based ice cream producer Ice Cream Union, with three different versions offered. The first includes peach aperitif, elderflower liqueur and raspberry sorbet, the second is created with Pisco Aba, rose vermouth, Campari, grapefruit sherbet and blood orange sorbet, and the third combines toki blended Japanese whisky, Mancino Ambrato, yuzu sake, lime juice and mango sorbet. All the sgroppini are topped with Moët Champagne and priced at £10 each.
The bar’s outdoor terrace is expected to attract those seeking to enjoy long afternoons with small bites and cooling cocktails. The team says the new menu aims to provide guests with “the perfect snack to have alongside Oriole’s champagne sgroppini ” – and the warmer weather has come just in time.
