Disney unveils new trailer for Zootropolis 2 ahead of November theatrical release

Walt Disney Animation Studios has released the trailer, poster and first-look images for Zootropolis 2, the long-awaited sequel to its Oscar-winning 2016 animated hit. The new feature will debut in UK cinemas on 28th November 2025, reuniting audiences with the beloved animal metropolis and its favourite unlikely crime-solving duo: bunny cop Judy Hopps and sly fox Nick Wilde.

Voiced once again by Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, Zootropolis 2 picks up after the pair cracked the city’s biggest case. Now officially partners on the force, their bond is tested when they’re assigned to the Partners in Crisis counselling program by Chief Bogo (voiced by Idris Elba). But their teamwork is soon thrown into jeopardy when a venomous new villain slithers into Zootropolis, leading Judy and Nick down a twisting trail of mystery.

The sequel also introduces a host of new characters, including the enigmatic snake Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan), therapist Dr Fuzzby (voiced by Quinta Brunson), and mischievous newcomer Nibbles (voiced by Fortune Feimster). Returning fan favourites include Gazelle (voiced by Shakira), Clawhauser (Nate Torrence), Bellwether (Jenny Slate), Mr Big (Maurice LaMarche), and even Flash the sloth (Raymond Persi).

Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, and produced by Yvett Merino, Zootropolis 2 marks Disney Animation’s 64th feature and continues the studio’s legacy of rich world-building, visual inventiveness and timely storytelling. Speaking about the sequel, Bush said: “It’s been an absolute joy to reteam with so many actors who made the first film so special, and so exciting to expand the world with our phenomenal new cast members. I can’t wait for audiences to see what other surprises we have in store in this brand-new adventure.”
