Golda Rosheuvel and Nick Frost lead magical Sky family film Grow – world premiere at Edinburgh Film Festival

Sky has unveiled the first trailer and poster for Grow, a heart-warming new family film set to receive its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 16th August before arriving on Sky Cinema on 10th October.

Directed by Scottish filmmaker John McPhail (Anna and the Apocalypse), Grow follows a no-nonsense farmer in the self-declared “Pumpkin Capital of the World” who takes in her estranged niece, Charlie. The young girl, played by newcomer Priya-Rose Brookwell, enters the town’s pumpkin growing contest with the help of her unusual plant powers – and a pumpkin she names Peter. As she nurtures both pumpkin and community, Charlie finds belonging and connection in unexpected places.

The ensemble British cast features Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton), Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz), Joe Wilkinson (After Life), Jane Horrocks (Bloods), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso), Tim McInnerny (Blackadder), Alan Carr (Nativity!), Kathryn Drysdale (Bridgerton), Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper) and Sharon Rooney (Barbie). Rising stars Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter series) and Brookwell lead the film’s fresh young talent.

Filmed in locations across Scotland – including Dalkeith, Culross, Rosyth and Gorebridge – Grow combines fantasy, nature and emotion in a tale of unlikely family, local pride and personal growth.

Sky’s Head of Original Film, Andrew Orr, called the project “a beautifully crafted story full of heart, humour, and magic”, highlighting Brookwell and McLaughlin as standouts in a cast that bridges generations.
