Predator: Badlands hits digital on 6th January after record-breaking box office run

Predator: Badlands, the latest chapter in the sci-fi saga, lands on UK digital platforms from 6th January 2026 – and it’s already made franchise history.

Directed by Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg, the film boldly expands the Predator universe, with The Great star Elle Fanning in a leading role as Thia, a synthetic human who joins forces with a young Predator exile named Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi). Set on a dangerous planet in the far future, the story blends intense action with themes of survival, identity and unlikely connection – offering both spectacle and emotional depth.

The result has resonated: Predator: Badlands has become the highest-grossing film in the franchise’s 38-year history, raking in $183 million at the global box office. It has also earned praise from fans and critics alike, with a 95% audience score and an 86% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Audiences can now delve deeper into the world of Badlands with a digital release that includes deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a director’s commentary. Highlights include a closer look at the creation of Fanning’s dual role – playing both Thia and her mirror-like counterpart, Tessa – as well as an exploration of Yautja culture and the world-building behind the film’s alien landscapes.
