Meat & Fire festival to return to Barcelona with world-class lineup of grill masters
The fourth edition of the Meat & Fire festival is coming to Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona’s Port Vell this June. Organisers have announced that more than 30 grill chefs from around the world will gather for what is billed as the most international edition to date. The event, which has previously drawn over 25,000 visitors, celebrates the culture of grilling and highlights both traditional and innovative techniques in barbecue cuisine.
Meat & Fire, now established as one of the largest international festivals dedicated to meat and grilling, will feature chefs from countries including Argentina, Ecuador, Greece, Romania, Portugal and Spain, with further participants expected from Colombia, Brazil, Iceland and the United Arab Emirates. The first confirmed names include Daniel Cocchia, an Argentinian chef who recently won the Best Burger in the World award at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami and was champion at the 2026 Dubai Burger Championship. Cocchia, founder of La Birra Bar, has been recognised for his “fully handcrafted preparations, from his iconic cloud-like bun to his blend of fresh beef”.
Joining Cocchia is Ecuadorian grill master Julio Cruz, who trained in Argentina and at the Basque Culinary Centre, and has led projects such as Cuchara Brava and the Asar festival, promoting the culture of asado in Ecuador. Greece will be represented for the first time by John Beastalis, a chef who combines traditional and modern techniques learned in his own country, as well as London, Shanghai and Australia. Also debuting is Romania with Pop Arnold Emerson, who has made a name for himself with food festivals and live cooking demonstrations, and as a member of El Chuletón, a Romanian project focused on artisan dry-aged beef.
The festival will also see the return of Portuguese chef Lídia Brás, representing her new restaurant Bondlair Bistro, and Mikel Lz de Viñaspre, chef at Sagardi Cocineros Vascos and co-founder of Meat & Fire, who trained in grilling in the Basque Country.
Over three days, the festival will feature more than 30 active grills, with chefs preparing dishes using a wide variety of cuts and showcasing fire traditions from multiple cultures. Attendees will have access to shared dining areas, a marketplace for artisanal fire-related products, live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses. On top of the culinary exhibitions, there’s live music and a range of open-air bars.
