Maslow’s Kensington is now open as demand grows for integrated work and wellbeing spaces

Maslow’s, the members’ club operator behind Mortimer House in Fitzrovia and 1 Warwick in Soho, opened its third London location today in Kensington, occupying 30,000 sq ft within The Kensington Building on Wrights Lane. The new club, which combines a gym, café, workspaces and wellbeing studios under one roof, marks the company’s first venture into west London and is positioned as a response to growing demand for integrated work and wellbeing environments. Kensington has also increasingly become home to specialised clinics, fitness clubs and medical spas – also a factor in the company’s choice of location.

The new site is housed within what its developers, AshbyCapital and Janson Urban, describe as the first new headquarters office building in the area in more than 35 years. Maslow’s occupies the ground and first floors, with interiors designed by Mehrai Design and final styling and art curation by Studio Mercy. The design draws on principles of neuroaesthetics and human-centred design, with four-metre-high windows fitted with operable fresh-air panels and a sculptural spiral staircase intended to encourage movement between floors. Flexible spaces, named the Pied à Terre, the Living Room and the Den, are designed to accommodate both focused work and social use.

Guy Ivesha, founder and chief executive of Maslow’s, previously led the redevelopment of The Plaza Hotel in New York before founding the company in 2017. Commenting on the new opening, he said: “We created Maslow’s Kensington in response to a shift we’re seeing in how people want to work and live. Too often, wellbeing exists separately from the working day, something people try to fit in before work, during lunch or afterwards.”

The members-only gym is equipped with Technogym Artis cardio machines, a customised Paragon x Gym80 strength training line and a studio fitted with Balanced Body reformers. Diagnostic tools, including Technogym Checkup and InBody assessments, are available for members tracking fitness and recovery metrics. The wellbeing programme is structured around 15, 30, 45 and 60-minute sessions covering reformer Pilates, strength and conditioning, TRX, breathwork, sound healing and running. Launch programming during June includes weekly run club sessions led by former Great Britain athlete Georgia Francis, breathwork workshops with Breaflex and sound bath sessions delivered by Selia Sound and Lolo Sound.

The club also houses Oria by Maslow’s, a café led by head chef Talia Trup, with a menu developed in collaboration with dieticians Uniquely Health. The food offering focuses on seasonal produce, whole foods and functional nutrition, excluding refined sugars. Drinks served include lion’s mane coffee, kombucha, cold-pressed shots and smoothies.

House membership is priced from £500 per month for unlimited access, with Resident membership from £1,100 per month and Study membership from £1,200 per desk per month.
