Adoh!, the Sri Lankan street food restaurant on Maiden Lane in Covent Garden, is teaming up with award-winning sauce and Chinese fine goods brand Poon’s to add its Extraordinary Chilli Oil to the menu from next Monday. The special ingredient will be incorporated into the restaurant’s Roadside Seafood Fried Rice, and diners can order an extra serving on the side for £1.50, initially until mid-November, with the possibility of going longer depending on how popular the combo becomes.

The oil, which received two stars at the 2026 Great Taste Awards, is made with salted black beans, giving it an earthy, savoury flavour alongside the chilli. Its heat builds gradually rather than arriving all at once, which suits it to a range of dishes.

Adoh! opened in 2025 as the latest restaurant from Aushi and Eroshan Meewella, founders of Kolamba Restaurant Group, which also runs Kolamba in Soho and Kolamba East. The space was designed by an all-Sri Lankan team and pairs corrugated metal, stainless steel and exposed grey beams with red, teal and yellow accents. Two murals by Sri Lankan artist Ruwangi “Roo” Amarasinghe depict hand-painted trucks and scenes of South Asian street life.

Named for the Sri Lankan word for “oi!”, the all-day restaurant draws on the street food of Colombo. Kothu, the chopped roti dish traditionally eaten late at night in Sri Lanka, is central to the menu and is served throughout the day in chicken, mutton, crab and stringhopper jackfruit versions. Other dishes include mutton rolls with a spiced meat filling, vadai lentil patties and a rice-and-curry option for sharing. On the drinks menu there’s a Negroni Coco made with gin, Campari, sweet vermouth and coconut, a Kithul Rum Punch, house sodas and a Milo milkshake. For dessert, there are options like Milo soft serve and a cashew ice cream sandwich made with Happy Endings ice cream.

Sitting right in the centre of in theatreland, the venue offers a £25 pre-theatre set menu comprising kothu, vadai or mutton rolls and a drink. It opens from 11.30am daily, closing at 10pm Monday to Thursday, 10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9pm on Sundays.

“ADOH! is our love letter to the streets of Colombo,” said the founding couple. “We wanted to create somewhere that captures that feeling of grabbing something delicious from a street-side spot – the colour, the energy and, most importantly, the food. It’s about creating somewhere people can drop in, eat well and have a good time any time of the day.”
