New social media app brings gamers together

New social media app brings gamers together

Social media site Pixwoo is coming to the UK with a launch on iOS and Android to “offer game players the world over a free platform upon which they can discuss games and their creators, without the constant begging for Cityville credits or seeing black and white pictures of what people have had for lunch.”

The network launched last year, but is now raising the bar and building an even bigger audience of gamers who are ready to socialise and share.

Pixwoo allows you to connect not only with your friends and colleagues but also with industry professionals. New friends and connections can be found by searching for shared interests, be they certain games, platforms or genres. All tastes are catered for, from those looking to play the newest titles and the latest platform, to retro gamers wanting to reminisce about games from their past.

“Pixwoo has been designed very much as a complementary social network – one which opens up the world of gaming to the entire world,” explains Pascal Vielhescaze, Pixwoo Founder. “By providing a place for users to socialise in and around the world of gaming, we’re able to provide a warm and welcoming community with passion and enthusiasm for the best entertainment medium in the world – without worrying about alienating anyone.

“At the moment, players can subscribe to videos on one network, follow pages on another and maybe interact with others on a forum. Our aim is to bring those communities under one roof, offering the best place on the internet to interact with games. Publishers and developers can talk directly to their audiences. Journalists can cross-promote their news stories, offering a larger audience. And consumers can discover so much more about their favourite pastime, discussing, discovering and sharing their passion.”

“Users can sign up with an email address or by using their Facebook or Twitter credentials. Once in, they will find the world of gaming at their fingertips. Following our soft launch last year, we’re delighted to welcome new Pixwoo-ers from France and the UK – and we’re excited about seeing the community grow.”
