Original recipe of the week: Red Chilli Vodka

Original recipe of the week: Red Chilli Vodka

We say this loosely – but who doesn’t love vodka? With Coke, lemonade or even soda and lime, it’s a great spirit for mixing on a hot summer’s day (or for enjoying straight on a cold winder’s day if you’re Russian).

We’ve encountered great examples of every flavour under the sun, but we think red chilli needs a new outing. Easy to prepare and perfectly spiced, our red chilli vodka has a real kick, but be warned – you’re going to have to wait for it!

Red chilli vodka

Serves: approx 10

Prep time: 5 minutes

What you will need:

1l bottle of finest vodka
2 large red chillies
1 tsp coriander seeds
Juice of 1 lemon
½ stem lemongrass, sliced

What you need to do:

  1. Decant the vodka into an appropriate glass bottle, slightly bigger than the one it came in.
  2. Place all of the remaining ingredients inside, give the mixture a quick stir and put on the lid.
  3. Place the bottle in the freezer for about 2-3 weeks until fully infused.
  4. Enjoy on its own with ice or paired with soda water for a fresh kick.
