The return of the knee high boot

The return of the knee high boot

London is, and has been for the past couple of years, a city which suffers with an intense addiction to ankle boots; we Londoners can’t get enough of them.

However autumn/winter 2014 has had an overhaul of the mini beauties and replaced them with knee-high boots. Whether it’s below the knee, above the knee, or on the knee, knee-highs have made a catastrophic return to fashion and it’s in a big way. Once the domain of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, knee highs have lost the “lady of the night” status and have been strutting their long leather stuff all over catwalks.

So how to rock a pair of these elongated babes? We’ve looked to a few of our fave fashionistas for a bit of boot inspiration. For a less-flesh-more-sophisticated work wear look like Kim Kardashian, choose a midi skirt with your boots or opt for a more playful look by flashing a bit of leg like Olivia Palermo. If you’re wearing them with a pair of skinny jeans, a suede knee-high is perfect for a never-ending leggy appeal. For the top, opt for a flowing blouse which hits your hips perfectly with a cute tailored jacket. Hot-to-trot, check!

For a night on the town, ensure you wear a cute LBD or your fave mini skirt, but nothing too revealing in itself – remember the boots are the sex appeal of the outfit. If your style’s more of a Kylie Jenner-esque ensemble, then choose a pair of crazy laced thigh-highs to show off your pins.

To assist you in your bid of rocking knee-high boots this season, we’ve rounded up 10 of the high-street’s best offerings and Zara has us weak at the knees! There’s now no excuse to not get your strut on!
