Would you wear someone else’s hair for your wedding?

Would you wear someone else’s hair for your wedding?

Some really lucky brides-to-be can afford to spend £50,000 or even £100,000 on a wedding dress, that is why this is the day all Cinderellas become princesses.
For such a fortune, a bride could have the dress of her dreams. Interestingly enough, there might be future brides dreaming of a dress made of human hair. Or at least the reality TV show star-designer Thelma Madine hopes so.

The wedding gowns’ designer, who became famous after creating a wedding dress for the reality TV show “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” on Channel 4, has come up with such a dress.

The bright red coloured dress, with a price tag of £50,000, is one of a kind and made purely from human hair. The dress was designed for the famous Nico bridal store and made using natural extensions 250 metres long. The dress is perfect for human hair lovers; and as unusual as it may seem, there are people out there who would prefer human hair to animal fur.

Natural human hair is not only used as hair extensions these days. Some of the emerging trends include using natural hair for making dresses, accessories or jewellery. One of the successful examples is designer Larissa De Souza Varges, who creates jewellery and accessories. Necklaces, bracelets and key-holders – like it blonde or brunette – you can have your very own (well, actually, someone else’s) hair accessory.

To make it even more personal, you can order it to be made with your own hair, or your beloved one’s.

On the other hand, if you are not into something hairy on your wrist and have recently cut your hair, it is possible to make some money – enough for traveling to Paris and back – by selling it. Natural hair selling prices on the internet may vary between £50 and £600 depending on how long, how groomed, what colour it is and even of what ethnicity you are. Hair we go!
