Presenting at Mary Ward House, design duo Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding took inspiration from present-day artist, Nathan Peter, for their SS16 collection.

Several looks were based around the deconstruction of the shirt – an aspect the brand is renowned for – with panels dissected and collars and cuffs oversized. A synthesis of fabric manipulations was seen in cotton and linen, which had been dethreaded for a striking tasselled effect, alongside woven jacquard and gilded leather – recurring in attractive muted shades of blue, yellow and pink.

Tailored drapery featured heavily across an abundance of powerful outfits highlighting sheer panels, subtle prints and brass eyelets. The idea of dissection extended into skirts, with segments of material precisely, and beautifully, absent. Waists were cinched by narrow belts; feminine blouses, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, accompanied cut-out shirts, whilst structured, longline layers also made an appearance.

The collection was refined, confident and contemporary; the brand stayed true to their minimalist aesthetic, adding simple accessories, including metallic-heeled sandals and gold hoop earrings.
