West Africa meets Scandinavia for a unique collaboration between Ikoyi and Restaurant 108 this October

If you fancy fusion food with a difference, it might be worth checking out London-based Ikoyi’s upcoming collaboration with Copenhagen’s Restaurant 108 on Thursday 10th October. Given both restaurants’ commitment towards locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, this creative pairing between Kristian Baumann of 108 and Jeremy Chan of Ikoyi is a match made in heaven.

Restaurant 108, sister to globally acclaimed Noma, was launched in Copenhagen in 2016. Despite being located in the city, between Christianshavns Canal and Inderhavnsbroen, through their inventive style of urban cooking, Baumann and his team have maintained close proximity to nature. The menu explores “The Copenhagen Kitchen” through locally sourced produce and traditional methods such as foraging, pickling, and fermenting. The restaurant holds a star in the Michelin Nordic cities guide.

Restaurant Ikoyi was co-founded by chef Jeremy Chan and Iré Hassan-Odukale back in 2017 and gained its first Michelin star in 2018. Their cuisine is totally unique and remains one of the most innovative menus in London. Chan uses a wide spectrum of rich West African spices alongisde fresh British ingredients, bringing elegance and balance to his dishes as well as a celebration of seasonal flavours.

108 X Ikoyi has enabled the two pioneering chefs to blend styles and signature dishes to construct a special, one-off menu featuring both Nordic and West African flavours. This will be available for either lunch or dinner; and consists of a blind tasting of nine servings, priced at £150 per person. There is also an option to have beverages expertly paired with your meal if you so choose for an additional £80.
