“The second season is a little darker, a little more mysterious”: Pablo Schreiber on Halo season two

As Halo returns to screen for a second season, Pablo Schreiber steps once again into the shoes of augmented soldier, Master Chief (also known as John-117) in this live-action franchise. This TV adaptation of the Halo game follows its own path in terms of historical events and narrative, but fans can expect the same epic battle scenes and incredible set design as war wages between the Spartans and the alien species known as The Covenant.

A returning ensemble cast drive the narrative forward, with some new faces adding to the action-packed story arc as it jumps forward in time from the first series. With the undercurrents of an impending war on the galaxy, John must find a way to stop the catastrophe, prevent the extinction of human existence and find out more about the mysterious construction called the Halo.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Schreiber about coming back on board for the second season of Halo, how he felt about the more emotional side of his character being explored, especially after season one delved further into his backstory, and what it was like working alongside such a brilliant ensemble cast.
