Ladurée has recently unveiled a new dining space in Covent Garden London, designed to be a blend of haute French cuisine and the elegance of a Versailles-inspired setting. Located above the brand’s flagship store, this addition aims to provide guests an immersive experience that combines the charm of Paris with a touch of London’s iconic architecture.

This latest venture by the iconic French pâtisserie brand, Ladurée, more widely known for its macarons and refined style, features a design that heavily draws from the opulence of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors and the classic English manor houses, all while maintaining a view of the bustling Covent Garden below.

The menu, crafted by Chef Julian Alvarez, intertwines British and French culinary traditions, offering an afternoon tea that includes finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, miniature patisseries laisir Ispahan, and Ladurée’s signature macarons, accompanied by a glass of vintage champagne and a selection of teas. Evening service continues the Franco-British theme with dishes such as Vol au Vent, Scallops with Jerusalem Artichoke, and a special Beef Wellington Fillet for two.

Mélanie Carron, Group CEO of Maison Ladurée, expressed her pride in the new space, in commenting: “Through this transformative journey, we have remained dedicated to preserving the intrinsic details and craftsmanship of the original building, accentuated with beautiful textiles and French details that define our brand of heritage and art de vivre.” She continued: “The menu marks another exciting step for Laduréemoving forward into the foray of London’s dynamic food scene, and we hope to join the ranks of celebrated French eateries that London is welcoming with such open arms.”

The room, a hidden gem designed to seat 36 guests, operates from Mondays to Sundays. It is also available for private events, offering a serene escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, and establishing itself as a luxurious oasis.
