World Gourmet Festival marks 25th anniversary in Bangkok with Michelin-star chefs and culinary collaborations

This September, the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel will host the 25th Annual World Gourmet Festival. Organised in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the week brings together more than 30 internationally acclaimed chefs, including 16 from Michelin-starred restaurants, for a programme of dinners, discussions and masterclasses.

In its silver jubilee year, the festival aims to celebrate global culinary excellence through a diverse line-up of events that spotlight both international and Thai talent. The 2025 edition is curated by Kristian Brask Thomsen, a culinary strategist who works with top-tier establishments and the Dining Impossible series. According to organisers, this year’s programme is the most ambitious to date, featuring chefs and restaurants recognised by the Michelin Guide, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Among the participating chefs are Eric Vildgaard of Jordnær (Copenhagen), Vaughan Mabee of Amisfield (New Zealand), Choi Ming Fai Jan of Mora (Hong Kong), Dave Pynt of Burnt Ends (Singapore) and Bangkok-based representatives including as Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn of Le Du and Pichaya “Pam” Soontornyanakij of Potong. The notable names continue with Paco Méndez (Come, Barcelona), Grégoire Berger (Ossiano, Dubai) and Janice Wong, who will host an afternoon tea and dessert showcase.

The festival will follow its signature format of nightly themed dinners: Gourmet Discovery, featuring unique chef collaborations, Gourmet Encounters, pairing international and Thai chefs, and Gourmet Icons, offering solo tasting menus by world-renowned chefs. Dining venues within the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, including Madison, Biscotti and Spice Market, will each host specific events throughout the week.

Highlights include a six-hands dinner with Eric Vildgaard and Bangkok’s Mathias and Thomas Sühring, as well as a collaboration between Tassanakajohn and Mabee. The line-up also features chefs recognised with Michelin Green Stars for sustainable gastronomy, and several restaurants from The World’s 50 Best list will be cooking in Thailand for the first time during a single week.

During the day there will be panel discussions, mixology sessions and workshops aimed at supporting emerging culinary talent in Thailand. Ticket prices range from THB 1,800 to THB 18,500, with early bird pricing available for select events.
