On Saturday, 31th January 2025, Islands Chocolate will mark National Hot Chocolate Day by giving away more than 10,000 cups of its drinking chocolate across the UK. The initiative will feature a pop-up event at Battersea Power Station in London, where over 1,000 cups will be distributed, as well as free hot chocolate served at selected partner cafés and bakeries nationwide. The event aims to provide a moment of warmth at the end of January, traditionally one of the coldest months in the UK.

The main London event will take place outside Battersea Power Station Underground Station from 10am to 6pm, or until supplies run out. Islands Chocolate will transform the area into a Caribbean beach-themed pop-up, offering visitors a complimentary cup of hot chocolate made from single-origin Caribbean cocoa, British sugar, and sea salt. Each person will be limited to one cup, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Beyond Battersea, the company has partnered with several independent bakeries and cafés to extend the giveaway nationwide. Participating venues include Crosstown Doughnuts (with locations in Battersea Power Station, Brick Lane, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Fitzrovia, and Greenwich), Caravan Coffee Roasters & Brew Bar, Mousetail Coffee (Fenchurch Street, Deptford, Canada Water, Whitechapel, Farringdon), and North Star Coffee’s The Docks Cafe in Leeds. Each partner location will offer 100 free cups of Islands Chocolate’s 45% Hot Chocolate Powder from 8am, also on a first-come, first-served basis.

Islands Chocolate was founded with the aim of producing high-quality chocolate while maintaining ethical and sustainable practices. It sources its cocoa directly from farming partners in the Caribbean, promising zero slavery, zero child labour, zero deforestation, and fair pay for farmers. Its chocolate is crafted with flavour-first principles and produced with uncompromising attention to flavour, craft and ethics.
