Berry Bros & Rudd, the UK’s oldest fine wine and spirits merchant, has announced a partnership with Frankie’s, a London-based finance and community platform, to launch The Bourne Collective. The new programme, which will be launched this April, will feature a series of social and educational wine events hosted across London, aiming to help participants develop confidence in understanding wine – from identifying personal preferences to exploring how wine collecting can contribute to long-term and intergenerational wealth.

The Bourne Collective brings together two female-founded brands: Berry Bros & Rudd, established in 1698 by the widow Bourne, and Frankie’s, founded by Francesca Smith. The name of the collective pays homage to the merchant’s founder and her legacy in the wine industry. Events will be held throughout the year at Berry Bros & Rudd’s historic cellars in St James’s as well as various venues around London, and are intended to be accessible to both newcomers and experienced collectors.

The series will launch with an introductory tasting evening, featuring selections from across the globe. Subsequent events will cover topics such as understanding individual taste, building confidence in wine selection, and the role of wine collections in wealth transfer between generations.

Smith, founder of Frankie’s and FSWM (Frankie Smith Wealth Management), commented on the partnership: “Working with Britain’s oldest wine and spirit merchant brings a depth of knowledge and heritage that offers our members an incredible opportunity to learn from those who have shaped the world of fine wine and spirits for centuries. […] The Bourne Collective reflects our belief that enjoyment and education don’t need to sit apart from financial understanding. We look forward to members engaging with Berry Bros. & Rudd’s experience and perspective, and gaining insight into how passions can intersect with considered investment.”

The Bourne Collective forms part of Frankie’s broader approach to building social and educational communities around shared interests, including food, wellness, art and fashion. The focus is on fostering environments that prioritise learning and connection, moving beyond strictly professional objectives.

Claudia Stebbings, director of marketing and experiences at Berry Bros & Rudd, explained: “We believe wine is one of life’s great pleasures – a world of craftsmanship, history and discovery that becomes even more rewarding when you feel confident exploring it. This partnership with Frankie’s allows us to share that world more widely, offering three centuries of expertise to help people understand their tastes and build collections that feel truly personal.

“Whether wine is a long-held passion or a way of investing in yourself and enjoying your wealth more fully, we aim to support members in developing their knowledge. We’re pleased to support a community that’s curious, engaged and interested in how personal enjoyment and long-term value can go hand in hand.”
