International debuts at Moscow Fashion Week: What to expect this season

Local heritage and the global agenda are no longer opposites. Moscow Fashion Week, taking place from March 14 to 19, exemplifies this shift, bringing together diverse national identities, contemporary trends, and visual languages on its runway. As global interest in this prestigious event grows, it features not only renowned Russian designers but also International brands from across the world. One such brand making its debut is Madame & Mister Sibarita, founded by Spanish designer Patricia Emma Fernandez Ortiz. She promises to showcase how Eastern mysticism intertwines with Western restraint in her latest collection at Moscow Fashion Week.

Madame & Mister Sibarita specializes in “ethno-chic” and luxury ethnicwear. Its production is based in Kolkata, India’s cultural capital, which largely influences the brand’s philosophy: an impeccable balance between sensuality, elegance, and Eastern luxury. However, there’s no room here for direct quotes or costume-like historical reenactments. Patricia Emma Fernandez Ortiz strives to transform Spanish passion and Indian craftsmanship into something entirely new.  At the show, spectators can expect architectural corsets, voluminous sleeves, and loose-fitting kaftans crafted from heavy Indian cotton, complemented by luxurious hand embroidery by Indian artisans. The collection will also feature abundant gold embroidery, shimmering sequins, delicate silk, and shimmering organza.

This event marks not just a debut in Moscow but a significant expansion of Madame & Mister Sibarita’s global presence and a new chapter in its history, as the brand has already showcased on runways in Spain, Italy and Indonesia. The brand emphasizes social impact, transforming fashion intoThe brand emphasizes social impact, transforming fashion into a tool for global change. Patricia Emma Fernandez Ortiz states: “More than fashion, our brand is a bridge between women around the world, fostering global sisterhood and economic empowerment. With a deep commitment to sustainability and the feminine mystique, we stand for beauty that is seen, felt and transformed.”

Russian designers will also present collections reflecting their unique values and identities. The brand Mmé, focused on internal strength and the beauty of modern women, will explore the blurring lines between art and fashion, creating a new aesthetic where every detail is meticulously crafted. Ianis Chamalidy, a Russian designer with Greek roots, will present transformable models that can be worn in multiple ways and adapted to any look. The Ural-based Atelier Duo drew unexpected inspiration from the aesthetics of the ocean coast. The collection’s color palette references seaside towns and features shades of blue and white with touches of pink, while silhouettes are characterized by soft, feminine shapes.

In total, over 200 participants from different regions of Russia, as well as Spain, China, Turkey, and Armenia, will take part in Moscow Fashion Week. As global fashion connects in new ways, Moscow Fashion Week is becoming an important platform for brands to reach new audiences, influencers, celebrities, and customers.
