Bicep to headline Sensora sensory charity dinner to raise funds for brain tumour research
Electronic duo Bicep will perform at Sensora, a multi-sensory fundraising event combining live music with a six-course Michelin-starred dining experience this May. Taking place at Here at Outernet in the West End, the evening will be staged in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity, with all proceeds going directly to the organisation.
The event was conceived by brothers Mark and James Tuttiett, who lost both their parents to brain tumours. Mark Tuttiett is head chef at two Michelin-starred restaurant Da Terra. The pair worked alongside The Brain Tumour Charity to develop the concept, which is designed to highlight how brain tumours can affect each of the human senses. The evening carries additional personal significance, as Matt McBriar, one half of Bicep, is currently living with a rare craniopharyngioma.
The format pairs each of the six courses with one of the senses, with a different acclaimed chef responsible for each dish. Cal Byerley, of Michelin-starred Restaurant Pine, will open with a chalk stream trout dish representing smell, followed by Holly Middleton Joseph of Hausu, whose citrus-based course addresses sight. Mark Donald of the two Michelin-starred Glenturret will present a dish exploring touch, while Will Murray of Fallow takes on sound with a Bathurst estate venison course. Tom Brown of one Michelin-starred The Capital will serve oyster ice cream for taste, and Mark Tuttiett himself will close the food programme with a yoghurt, pine, walnut and gooseberry dish representing memory.
Welcome drinks will be provided by Three Sheets, and Bicep will perform both an intimate, specially curated set during the dinner, followed by a DJ set to close the evening.
The organisers have stated their intention for Sensora to become an annual event, with the aim of raising ongoing awareness and funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, which funds related research and support in the United Kingdom.
Tickets, limited to 300, are priced at £375 per head, with a VIP experience also available. A smart dress code has been stipulated.
