In 2011, designer Sally Kite had the fashion world talking when Vogue named her as “one-to-watch” in the October 2011 issue of the magazine. Two years later she’s not disappointed, collaborating with the talented Grace Eden to launch a brand new collection of uber-luxe accessories with their up-and-coming brand, Kite-Eden. During London Fashion Week, the brand launched an elegant AW12/13 collection of chic leather accessories. Last season the brand gained notable applause for their use of plush furs, and the animal trend continues for the coming season with an emphasis on luxury exotic skins.

The range is both functional and wearable, and in-keeping with Sally and Grace’s original view of the Kite muse, “the composed, enigmatic woman, concealing wild and creative undertones”. Snake and alligator skins have been sourced from specialist tanneries to produce accessories of the highest quality. Everyday shapes and styles have been infused with various skins and colours to produce a truly unique collection. Ladylike snakeskin totes with flashes of orange and fuchsia, and darling mini-clutch bags are some of the stand-out pieces. Attention to detail is evident throughout the collection, and matching belts and notebook cases mean the Kite-Eden girl is kitted out for every eventuality. And with the trend for alligator and snakeskin accessories appearing everywhere this season, from Botegga Venetta to Loewe and Roberto Cavalli, these bags are an investment piece that will last for years to come.

Kite-Eden is now stocked in both Shine in Hong-Kong and the luxury Darkroom boutique in London. Their collections have garnered them press in Vogue, Used Magazine, Let Them Eat Cake and H&M.
