Crocheted love with Penny & Paul

Crocheted love with Penny & Paul

“Inspired by all things quirky, quality, and original, Penny & Paul provides one-of-a-kind items that are functional, long-lasting, and, OH YEAH, hip.”  This Washington DC-based crochet-wear and home goods company was started by a lovely lady by the name of Emily McCarthy. Emily learned to crochet while on a family vacation in 1999. She crocheted just a simple chain, but it eventually evolved into her first, and somewhat lumpy scarf, which catapulted her passion into all things crocheted and handmade.

She is a full supporter of “Made in the USA,” appreciating the feel and unique character of items that take time, thought and care to produce in the States (a rarity these days). The products are handmade right in Emily’s Capital Hill home. Penny & Paul create brilliant crocheted hats for adults, kids and babies alike. They even offer such quirky, knitted baby toys, tooth-fairy pillows, arm warmers, baby booties and even (our personal favourite) doggy bowties. Each piece is made with love and care, and have funky names like The Apple Eater, The Art Lover, The Scuba Diver and The Puddle Jumper ranging from $26 to $35.
