Jimmy and his Girl: Doing their bit for pancreatic cancer
For anyone who has seen somebody suffer from pancreatic cancer, you will know how important to is to raise money in order to raise awareness as well as gain funding for research. At Jimmy and his Girl they are doing precisely that.
Jimmy and his Girl was founded in October 2011 by Georgina Hatton-Woods and Murray Legg, a couple living together in Somerset. They named the label after Murray’s grandparents, Jimmy and Eileen. Jimmy and his Girl is an idea that was built on a dream. They made the dream a reality. Georgina and Murray believe that fashion and style are so much more than items of clothing or accessories. To them it’s a conversation piece, an item to cheer you up, a gift to a dear friend and so much more. “All of our items are carefully selected and we hope that our items make you feel happy.”
Over 20 years ago Jimmy passed away after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. They are now determined to do everything they can to help support Pancreatic Cancer UK as a tribute to Jimmy. The couple have said that for every Kimberley Galaxy Ring, they will donate £5 to Pancreatic Cancer UK as well as making a monthly donation.
Pancreatic Cancer is one of the cancers where the survival rate hasn’t changed in 40 years. 40 years ago the survival rate was 3% and today that survival rate is still the same. Pancreatic Cancer research gets very little funding, even though it is one of the hardest cancers to treat and the hardest to detect.
What Georgina and Murray are doing is admirable and they are raising money for a very worthy cause.
