Santa Macabre offers handmade and unique jewellery, with every piece maintaining its beauty and quality without costing an arm and a leg. Santa Macabre is run by Maria Junko who believes ‘you shouldn’t have to part with all your pennies to get something amazing’.

Starting in 2009, Santa Macabre took its name after Junko decided she could potentially make a living doing what she enjoyed. Having always spent time customising her own clothes and accessories, she decided to take it one step further and pursue her dream career. First, starting out with a small stall at the Wolverhampton Vegan Festival, she opened up the whole interesting world of the craft fair and Junko soon got involved in holding her own craft fairs in her home town of Cardiff. Named Vintage Pretty and running for just over a year, Junko travelled the country selling her unique one-off pieces.

Vintage Pretty soon expanded into something bigger and Santa Macabre was born. Thanks to the loyal followers picked up along the way, business instantly took off. The website is accessible and welcoming despite many of the items being described as gothic or a little dark. The work speaks for itself; the inspiration coming from many different influences; it is hard to pinpoint one. From black, horror themed necklaces to plastic, vintage dog pendants, there is hopefully something for everyone! Junko prides herself on coming up with new and unique ideas and no Santa Macabre handmade piece is ever duplicated, so you can be sure what you are getting is definitely one of a kind.

Even with her success you can tell Junko has never let any of it go to her head, appreciating every purchase a customer makes.
