An illustrating masterpiece – Jewellery by Jaymie

An illustrating masterpiece – Jewellery by Jaymie

Jaymie O’Callaghan has a magical gift: the ability to draw exquisitely well. Even from a young age when she could be found doodling with a pot of pencils at her side, and Jewellery by Jaymie is the result of such a talent.

Fascinated by her dad’s capabilities in drawing portraits and with her siblings taking up art-based subjects, it was only natural for Jaymie to follow in their footsteps, taking both art and textiles as options for her future career.

Being a lover of fashion and accessories, combining her drawing ability with something she felt a similar passion for seemed like the right thing to do. Creating her own pieces that she would wear herself and sharing them with people who appreciate her taste was the main idea for connecting the two. Now, Jaymie’s idea has blossomed into a truly wonderful innovation.

Inspiration for her work comes from everywhere: films, nature, music, people, the unusual and the enchanted, as well other beautiful artists such as Caitlin Shearer, Giselle Scanlon and Gil Evlgrin. Jaymie has an ardour for different eras, particular the 60s and icons such as Twiggy, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. Her work is a definitive and beautiful reflection of this and the true exclusivity of her drawing makes you need to have one of her pieces, to complete any outfit.

Each item is handmade, drawn or painted by Jaymie herself, so individuality and uniqueness make wearing one of the pieces a special right in itself. I think it’s fair to say Jewellery By Jaymie is simply stunning. It would be impossible to pick a favourite as Jaymie’s drawings are impeccable and done with perfect detail, but a few special picks are the Chanel No5 necklace (£10.00), the Breakfast at Tiffany’s charm necklace (£25.00) and the Holly Golightly Ring (£9.00). There is also an option to turn your own icon or image into a trinket by contacting Jaymie about her commission service.

It doesn’t get much better than wearing a piece of jewellery and knowing it’s one of a kind, and that is exactly what you get with Jewellery By Jaymie.
