It’s always good when you find a shop which sells really individual items that are also affordable.  A Weathered Penny sells gorgeous jewellery with a quirky and modern touch. Founded by Kayleigh Myers, this London-based independent boutique is packed full of all sorts of jewellery at surprisingly affordable prices.

The vintage-inspired trinkets are such a find that you’ll wonder where the boutique has been hiding. And it has been hiding online – the jewellery is sold through A Weathered Penny’s website. There, you can find a whole world of kitsch jewellery.  As you click through the online shop, you will see the different categories of jewellery and as is often the case with us magpies: the more you click, the more you want.

Skulls, and the macabre in general, are big news at the moment. This knitted gold chain necklace is amazing enough, but with accented red skulls and gold crosses it is a luxurious statement piece; it’s spot on. £15

The selection of bracelets are delicate and feminine. This chain one is very sweet with its heart-shaped padlock for detail. The other bracelets in the range are similar with varying designs of charming trinkets to choose from. £8

If you are a fan of things that are a little bit different and unusual you’ll love this delicate spring-themed ring. It seems so enticing having a decorative egg on a ring which when open, reveals two eggs sitting in a nest. Nothing could be cuter. £10

If you like to be bold with your jewellery, this cuff is for you. The tribal design, set with semi-precious stones in a deep black and vibrant red, would be a prominent piece in any outfit – but worn with a floaty summer dress it would be a standout. £12

A piece that has given A Weathered Penny more than a bit of attention is this feather collar that has been worn by the stylish Fearne Cotton. The necklace sits at the base of the neck to give edge and texture to your outfit, most definitely a standout piece! £25
