Brightening up your weekdays with New Weekends

Brightening up your weekdays with New Weekends

New weekends are a vintage clothing label that you can’t help but fall in love with. Focusing upon sourcing on trend and more classic pieces for both males and females, New Weekends varies from the 1950s through to the 1990s’ clothing.  Everyone involved with the label has either worked – or is currently working – in the fashion industry, bringing a creative background to the name. The idea behind it all was to find the pieces that the group could not ever find themselves. They wanted to be able to shop the vintage items they liked at a reasonable price, and that is exactly what they did. Currently available from the ASOS Marketplace, New Weekends has a whole array of shirts, jumpers and skirts as well as other idyllic items to complete the perfect vintage look.

Inspiration for the label considers everything the group loves, and this is way more than just clothes. From New Wave cinema, young artists, old tunes, style icons and new music such as Grimes and WU LYF, the label considers all aspects of life and this shines through the items they choose for our buying pleasure.

They also take inspiration from art and photography.  Through the use of Tumblr they promote who New Weekends is by giving their customers a selection of pictures they love, as well as giving up and coming artists a name.

The items they source for the online space were handpicked from different places in the UK and Europe. Travelling allows them to search for the items they feel best represent New Weekend, whether they come from a flee market in Paris or a local car-boot sale. As the business grows, they aim to stretch the area they are searching to find the best vintage gems they can. Personal favourites are the Vintage 1980s Blue Dress with Pearl Buttons (which is currently a bargain at £20 in the sale!), the 1960s floral dress at £29 and the Tapestry 90s floral bag at £15.

The future of New Weekends looks to feature earlier eras of vintage clothing, more specifically the 20s and 30s but until then, the stock they have is not only one of a kind, but it is treat to your purse too.

Have a look for what your wardrobe is missing here.
