Jennifer Claire Goldring abides by a simple motto in life: “Dream, design, make!” She takes all her thoughts and makes them come alive.

This British-based designer creates accessories that are affordable, feminine and light to wear. They are absolutely one-off pieces and every jewel she produces becomes a sparkling treasure. This lady has the magic touch!

Jennifer works under the brand The Midnight Deer that concentrates upon handmade jewellery and hair accessories; all are inspired by nighttime and nature, creatures such as owls, deer and rabbits are some of the sources of her inspiration.

Despite the source of Jennifer’s designs coming from her natural surroundings, there is something also very romantic in all her work. Take for example this locket: two lone birds in the sky. It gives me the impression that it’s only the two of them in the sky and nothing else matters.

As you can see here, her simple use of feathers makes this hairpiece exquisite and would have everyone’s head turn at a dinner party. It’s not bold, it’s not flashy: it’s very refined and elegant, and it reminds me of Wuthering Heights.

Or take this hair garland that has proved to be popular with festival-goers. I can definitely see why: it is unique. You will not be finding such pieces in any of your local stores.

When Jennifer was asked about her designs, she said: “I like to create using sparkling beads, vintage finds and hand-designed Perspex.” Her muses are early mornings, late evenings and nighttime.

If you want to feel special, like the princess that you are, The Midnight Deer will have the perfect accessory to finish off your outfit.

Each piece you buy comes with its very own little black box, presented with a little touch of Jennifer Claire Goldring.
