The patriotism within each of us has probably, at one time or another, influenced our investments in beauty products with a London twist (take Nails Inc, Rimmel’s London Look and Dior’s English Rose Blush), because we are all, of course, proud to be British right?

As 2012 brings us a plague of Olympic and Jubilee fever there’s a new way for beauty fashionistas to adorn themselves in all things British – and we’re not talking a new nail colour or a Geri Halliwell tribute dress. Instead, we will be waving our Union Jacks using just our eyes.

This is due to Paperself having announced their most recent designs, launching later this month, which will include the ‘London Lashes’, with Big Ben, The London Eye, The Gherkin and other famous landmarks surrounding your eyes as well as their ‘Rose Lashes’ – a simply delightful way to flutter your eyes at passers-by, using Britain’s most symbolic flower.

If you haven’t heard of Paperself before, you are most probably dumbfounded by the idea of Big Ben and the Gherkin perched on your eyelid. Fear not, however, Paperself are in fact responsible for creating the world’s first and only eyelashes cut from paper, surprising the fashion and beauty industry throughout. Presenting a whole new concept of eyelashes to the market filled with character and inspired by the art of Chinese paper cutting, Paperself have managed to blend an element of traditional culture with contemporary design as each style has a symbolic meaning, from horses to peonies and peacocks. The lashes can in fact be cut and combined in various ways, creating numerous exquisite and unique looks for the wearer.

Paperself lashes were first launched around two years ago, and are becoming more popular by the day. Having most recently showcased their original collection in the hit blockbuster The Hunger Games, Paperself are being held responsible for this artistic and truly wonderful trend that has taken the beauty world by storm.

Their newest designs are ideal for the upcoming events this summer, and are a really unique way to create a golden Olympic look and the perfect excuse for you to flutter your eyes at one particular Royal, ahem.
