Couture Colours: YSL’s La Laque Couture Collection

Couture Colours: YSL’s La Laque Couture Collection

Yves Saint Laurent’s latest nail collection, La Laque Couture, is a celebration of the couture legacy of the House of Saint Laurent. Consisting of no fewer than 30 timeless shades of nail ‘lacquer’, each one is a representation of the classic and contemporary legacy of the brand.

Creative Director Lloyd Simmonds stated: “The La Laque Couture Collection lets you dip your fingertips into the world of Couture with iconic YSL colours. And what inspiring colours! Reds, fuschias, oranges, even gold and black. Historic colours pay tribute to YSL classics and the brand’s fashion heritage with a vast array of options. As seasonal trends unfold, new colours will be introduced.”

One glance will tell you the range of colours is pretty impressive – bold pinks, stunning metallics, trendy taupes and more.

That’s not all – the collection’s launch is coupled with a complete rebranding of the brand’s nail lacquers, new formulation and bottles.

YSL are boasting a new optimal formula and rapid drying with their couture polishes, promising intense, pure and vivid colour. The formula is enriched with Chilean Rose bush and extract of Corallina to fortify and protect nails.

Typical of YSL, the new gold packaging is beautifully luxurious. However, the excellently-designed wide and flat brush that allows flawless application and deeply pigmented colour that’s opaque in a single stroke is the reason you might want to consider forking out £18 for a bottle of one of these beauties.

The stand-out shade for me is Beige Leger, a divine nude shade that’s perfect for every day wear, but if you’re brave enough to go bold with your nails, Bleu Majorelle is suitably adventurous – not to mention a YSL classic. For chic Parisienne nails, Rouge Pop Art is the perfect red.

Say it with your nails and flaunt colour with pride.
