The Ivy Asia turns up the heat (and the ice) with new Fire & Ice set menu

The Ivy Asia has launched a new set menu, The Elements: Fire & Ice, at its restaurants across the UK and Ireland this autumn, offering diners a choice between two contrasting themes, one built around smoke and tableside flames, the other around dry ice and chilled serves. The menu is priced at £25.95 for a starter and main course, with dessert available for an additional £5, and is available at all locations of the restaurant group except Manchester.

It begins with Crispy Wonton Pastry and Poppadoms served with a Szechuan dip, followed by a choice of Asian-inspired starters. These include Yellowtail Tartare with citrus dressing, truffle, crispy nori and rice crackers; Sesame Prawn Toast with sriracha and lime; Steamed Chicken Gyoza with a sesame crust and black pepper dip; and a Spinach and Mizuna Salad with sesame miso dressing, crispy onions and nori.

Main course options include King Prawn Noodles Wok Fried with chilli, greens and spring onion; Nasi Goreng with sweet soy marinated chicken, garlic and chilli; and a Kerala Chickpea and Aubergine Curry with pak choi, coconut and coriander. Smoked Beef Short Ribs, slow-braised and served with galbi sauce and fragrant herbs, are available for a supplement of £4.50.

Diners who select the Fire option are served their main course with smoke, while the dessert, a Flambéed Crème Brûlée, is flamed at the table, producing a set vanilla custard beneath caramelised sugar. Those choosing Ice are served dishes and drinks presented with dry ice. The accompanying cocktail, the Lychee Mule, is priced at £12.95 and combines Ukiyo Japanese Vodka, Kaveri Ginger, lychee, lime and Fever-Tree Ginger Ale.

The menu runs Sunday to Friday from 11.30am to 6pm, and Sunday to Wednesday from 6pm until close.

The Ivy Asia has also partnered with Quintessentially Travel on a competition open to guests dining from the set menu. The prize is a three-night trip for two to Iceland, including accommodation in boutique lodgings, return flights from London with one item of hold luggage per person, and a Blue Lagoon experience for two. Entry is via a QR code available in the restaurants.

The Ivy Asia operates ten sites, with London locations at St Paul’s, Chelsea and Mayfair, alongside restaurants in Manchester, Leeds, Guildford, Brighton, Cardiff, Liverpool and Dublin. The restaurants are part of The Ivy Collection and is known for its interiors and Asian-influenced menus.

The launch coincides with a wider series of autumn menu changes across The Ivy Collection. These include a Cool Britannia menu marking 30 years since the cultural moment of the same name, running at restaurants nationwide at £19.96 for two courses until 6th October, and a separate limited-edition version at The Ivy West Street priced at £39.95 for two courses or £49.95 for three, running until 10th November.
