Sending letters is fashionable!

Letter-sending is a thing of the past; instead we grab for our iPhones and laptops to send a quick email in order to make contact with someone. I think we can all relate to this statement in one way or another. However, fear not, because sending letters just got fashionable!

Royal Mail has been re-created in the fashion world and is finally stylish. Graphic design company Johnson Banks, with the help of photographer Solve Sundsbo, have designed the most spectacular stamp collection known to date and boy are we excited.

We have just celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee and Royal Mail are also celebrating 60 years of great British fashion. What  more memorable way is there, than to scour them across our nation on postcards and letters?

The featured designers on the stamps consist of the top ten British designers of all time and they are given a stamp to represent this. Fashion surrounds us in every way, so it is only fair that Royal Mail get involved and play their part. Sixty years in British fashion is definitely something to celebrate; it reminds us of our love for this country and all of the things that come together to create Britain.

The British designs featured on the stamps include works by Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Hardy Amies, Norman Hartnell, Granny Takes a Trip, Ossie Clark, Tommy Nutter, Jean Muir, Zandra Rhodes and Paul Smith.

These designers have all produced exceptional work that has carried on living throughout time and we definitely believe that they all deserve a place on the top-ten list of designers for British fashion.  Johnson Banks have removed the model from the pictures to present an image of the clothes hanging on their own accord. Designs for both men and women are featured on the stamps and each individual one is unique and powerful.

Even if you don’t intend to use the stamps, we would still recommend you keep them for old times’ sake, as they are a great representation of Britain at its best. As you all know, this year is an extremely important year for us as a country. So make sure you leave your emails for a while and pick up those pens and start writing letters to family overseas, so you can impress them with your fashionable stamp.
