Shop for heritage knitwear at Peregrine’s pop-up shop

English heritage brand Peregrine has recently opened its two-week pop-up store at Cube and last night, The Upcoming was lucky enough to get to shop the collection after hours.

The knitwear brand’s A/W 12 menswear and womenswear collections were both on display alongside a selection of signature accessories and footwear by Loake. The contemporary shop space has been transformed to imitate a fabric factory floor of 1924, complete with baskets of yarns and even an antique Singer sewing machine. A black and white image from the Peregrine archive has been enlarged to fill an entire wall, depicting the heart and soul of British manufacturing and giving the store a real sense of the brand’s history.

Peregrine isn’t your usual fashion brand. Their range of accessories is comprised of the usual footwear, belts and scarves as well as a few things you wouldn’t expect. Adding a quintessentially British element are the brand’s country socks, quilted wine-cooler-bags and wool and wax – making them thorn-proof picnic rugs, tied in a neat roll with a handle. Peregrine are more a lifestyle brand and not just another clothing company.

Each piece by Peregrine is made in England as it has been since the company began in 1796 with Thomas Glover. With eight generations of the Glover family and over 200 years experience, Peregrine retains the high standard of quality traditional British styling and materials whilst remaining contemporary with their innovative designs.

This autumn, follow Peregrine’s advice: “there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing” and get some snug knitwear and a wax jacket. But be quick! You only have until 22nd September to visit the pop-up shop at:

Peregrine at Cube, 47 Lambs Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, London, WC1N 3NG
