A rainy Friday afternoon became a whole lot brighter after The Upcoming was introduced to Laykh, a delightful handbag and accessory label based in Hong Kong. Kashish Hemnani, the owner of the bespoke handbag brand, showcased her work in the stylish Manderville hotel, West London and truly brought a smile to our faces.

The idea behind the label is to create bespoke work that truly stands out from the crowd. Using materials such as python, ostrich, stingray and alligator, Kashish’s work is really something special. A beautiful array of day bags and clutches as well as wallets and iPad covers were spread across a table in a series of different chic colours and styles.

When speaking to Kashish about her work, she commented on how she wanted to steer away from putting her designs into commercial stores. The uniqueness of her label allows Laykh to provide customers with what they really want from their product. The ready-to-wear collection comes with a more personal approach, allowing you to mix and match skins and colour choices. This is something that makes the label exclusive, and that needs to stay true to its roots. Kashish even commented on how they would recreate a bag that may have broke or needs replacing for you, to ensure that you still have that perfect bag for your personal collection. We couldn’t think of a more brilliant idea!

Ranging from £180 to £780, you are paying for absolute quality when purchasing one of these elegant pieces. Ensuring that this is at the forefront of the making process, Kashish has managed to reinforce that her label is all about class through the sheer magnificence of the work.
