Press day: The Wolves’ autumn/winter 2013 collections

Located in the heart of Soho in the quaintest of private houses, The Wolves and the brands they represent displayed their AW13 collections.JEN KAO FW13 ACCESSORIES (dragged)

Modern and trendy labels Jen Kao, Sophia Webster, Louise Amstrup, Orla Kiely, Toga, Bolzoni & Walsh and Preen Line were all laid out simple and classy over two floors in a house that exuded charm and history. There was even a door signed “wig room,” very novel!

To add to the ambience were spring flower arrangements and Diptyque candles, making for a very pleasant experience.

Now for the clothes and accessories. Jen Kao’s collection is totally for the modern woman who knows what she wants. It’s all about statement and power dressing with precise lines and strong tech fabrics.15

Sophia Webster is fun as always, with shiny rainbow metallics and a magical unicorn theme.

Orla Kiely offers a fantastic 50s retro vibe, with combinations of suede and leather fabrics paired with dainty prints and feminine shapes in the form of high-waisted shorts and mini-skirts that can be accessorised with a lovely choice of slouchy leather handbags in deep plum and winter olive.

For her tenth season, Louise Amstrup has once again kept it youthful by using light fabrics and prints inspired by a documentary on Plagues and Pleasures of the Salton Sea – a once alluring Californian desert ruined by a never-ending odour of decaying fish, due to the high salt levels in the lake. She has successfully translated this into pretty prints.10

Hats included in the collection from Noel Stewart Millinery reflect the same colour palette as the clothing in lilac and grey tones with a wide brim and deeper crown, creating a slight Stetson vibe – a must-have for all hat lovers out there.

Upstairs, the Toga collection led with a more masculine edge and a 50s rock ‘n’ roll energy with the silver buckled and pointed boots. Deep velvet prints on high-waisted trousers and structured tops would make for a completely trendy outfit.

Preen Line are simply grunge with wool jumpers and A-line skirts in a minimalist palette of red, black and white.11

Finally, Italian husband and Swedish wife duo, Bolzoni & Walsh, impress once again with the flawless combination of the Nordic uncomplicated style and Italian tailoring, creating some timeless pieces.

Even though summer hasn’t hit yet, we are now completely distracted with thoughts of leathers and wools in deep hues that we want to covet for our autumn/winter 2013 wardrobes!
