Decoylab: laser-cut clocks, jewellery and so much more!

Decoylab: laser-cut clocks, jewellery and so much more!

Decoylab is a relatively new company that creates kooky wood-based products from necklaces to clocks, at brilliantly affordable prices.

Based in Kansas City, the small family run business came about in 2008, after the birth of the creators’ daughter. Since then, Decoylab has flourished into a comfortably successful company with the owners remaining humble yet focused.decoylab1

Visiting the website you can see that at the moment there are four different areas to shop: Clocks, For Home, Wearables and Paperie. The Clocks collection offers a spectacular array of beautifully crafted timepieces, ranging from the elaborate Modern Cuckoo clock and the beautiful Its My Forest clock to the simple but stunning animal pieces. The most expensive of the clocks is around £88, and the lowest valued at £25.

The For Home section includes a variety of pieces for use around the house such as pretty cotton-blend tea towels in pastel floral prints, or brightly coloured designs and also coasters, perpetual calendars made out of wood and a chalkboard. These items can cost from as little as £10, and go up to the still acceptable £50.decoylab2

The Wearables play host to brooches, necklaces and even a cute gift tag with a brooch for the receiver. Like everything with Decoylab, the pendants and pins are simply adorable; hedgehogs, deer and elephants are all on offer and from as little as £4 they are hard to resist.

The final line from the Decoylab site is Paperie, comprising of clipboards, calendars and prints. Following a similar style to the others, the clipboards are made of wood and have quirky little notes such as “I will achieve my goals” and “Make my dreams come true”. Once again, these are at a ludicrously great price of £5 to £35. decoylab3

The combination of traditional ideas and designs with a modern vision is what Decoylab do so brilliantly. For example, the cuckoo clock is clearly a rather old-fashioned piece, but Decoylab modernises it with creative materials, laser-cutting and a great eye for interior style.

The people who run the brand clearly put their heart and soul into the business and this is what makes you want to invest with them. As you read the “about” section, check out the blog and participate in the giveaways, you understand that this is not a chain company and anything you buy from the site will be created with the utmost care, devotion and be of great quality.

You can currently purchase the pieces from their website and from online marketplace Etsy. Decoylab also have a “contact us” page on their site if you are interested in wholesaling their designs.
